      CDN Pricing Stable in Q1: Price Drop Only Seen at Highest Levels
      Pricing does seem to be all over the map when it comes to lower volumes and so does the quality of service. With the larger player well entrenched for the long haul, pricing melt down would be disastrous for the industry.

      But without doubt, pricing pressures will bring about consolidation and the new breed of video delivery networks companies may end up dominating the landscape which up to now is in the hands of just 2-3 companies.

      Keep a watch out for EdgeStream and Itiva.

      Five Key Quotes from Limelight's Conference Call
      Competition is indeed growing in this sector with compnaies like EdgeStream, a fresh CDN labelling itself as the first Video Delivery Network streaming HD videos globally. Interestingly, they are winning over clients who have been using Akamai and LimeLight as they are able to provide a QoS and price that the these two cannot sustain.

      I see consolidation in this space in not too distant future...

      Netflix's Roku is Doomed to Fail
      They have to deliver the video streams in at least DVD quality for this business to elvolve. Right now it is VHS at best.

      Wonder what Reed Hastings and his team are thinking! They need to try the streaming media quality at EdgeStream who are delivering videos streams in HD today.
