New Frontier Media (NOOF) discusses its wireless plans (quotes from fiscal 4Q05 conf call)
Below are some comments from New Frontier Media (ticker: NOOF) from its May 25, 2005 conference call with investors.
…earlier this month, New Frontier wireless products made consumer launches in four European countries, including Germany, Portugal, Austria, and Switzerland. Within two weeks, we expect to launch in the UK… From a user perspective, our videos appear within the main menu system offered by the carriers. Users simply click through to our product, select the one they want, and then they are automatically billed through the carrier.
In the United States, we are within weeks of launch of our WAP or wireless Web site…. Over time, this site will make various elements of New Frontier assets available to users. These will range from still photographs to erotic ring tones and ultimately to video content.
….the wireless product in the U.S. will consist of many different components. Number one is the WAP site…. which initially will be available off-deck [meaning: not on the main menu]….we are positioned nicely to begin to deploy both pictorial wallpapers and ring tones that will be available directly on the carrier deck and will incorporate carrier billing...
… as far as revenue, we have not baked in any revenue or actually very little revenue for wireless products for this fiscal year, simply because we have absolutely no experience in this space.
